Hair Treatments is the targeted shelf within hair care — masks, deep conditioners, serums, ampoules, keratin and protein treatments, scalp treatments and the products bought for a specific problem rather than for washing.

Protein or Moisture — Getting This Right Saves Money

Almost every hair treatment on the market does one of two jobs, and using the wrong one makes hair worse rather than better:

• Moisture treatments (masks, deep conditioners, oils) soften. Hair that is dry, frizzy, rough and dull needs these.

• Protein treatments (keratin, amino acids, hydrolysed protein) strengthen. Hair that is limp, mushy when wet, stretchy and snapping easily — usually after bleaching, colouring or heat — needs these.

• Too much protein makes hair stiff, brittle and straw-like, which people then treat with more protein because it feels damaged. If your hair has become crunchy since you started a keratin routine, that is the answer. Alternate: moisture regularly, protein occasionally.

Using a Treatment Properly

• Apply to clean, towel-damp hair — not soaking, not dry. Water in the shaft blocks the treatment from getting in.

• Mid-lengths and ends only. The roots are the newest, healthiest hair and do not need it; product at the scalp weighs hair down and can cause build-up.

• Leave it the stated time. Longer is not better — most masks have done everything they will do within twenty minutes.

• Warmth helps. A towel or a shower cap over the top genuinely improves penetration.

• Rinse thoroughly. Residue is what leaves hair limp and the scalp itchy.

• Once a week is enough for most hair; twice for very damaged or chemically treated hair.

What a Treatment Cannot Do

Split ends cannot be repaired. A serum glues them together temporarily and they look better until the next wash — but the only thing that removes a split end is scissors, and leaving it splits further up the shaft. A trim every eight to twelve weeks saves more length than any treatment.

Genuine Products

Much of this catalogue is imported, and imported shelves are where fakes and repacks appear. Whoever you buy from, these are worth checking:

• The seal. An intact shrink wrap or safety ring is what tells you a product has not been opened.

• The batch number and expiry printed on the pack itself, not on a sticker over it. A sticker covering the original printing is the commonest sign of a repack.

• A price far below everyone else’s is information — sometimes a genuine clearance, often a fake or something close to expiry.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I use a hair mask?

Once a week for most hair. Twice a week if it is bleached, coloured or heat-styled often. Every day is not better — over-conditioned hair goes limp and greasy at the roots.

Do serums repair damaged hair?

They coat and smooth it, which reduces friction, tangling and breakage — a real and worthwhile result. They do not rebuild the hair, because hair above the scalp is dead protein and cannot heal.

Can I use a treatment on coloured hair?

Yes, and coloured hair usually needs one. Use products marked for colour-treated hair, keep water lukewarm rather than hot, and wash less often — heat and frequent washing are what strip colour fastest.

How do I know the product is genuine?

Check the seal, the batch number and the expiry printed on the pack itself rather than on a sticker over it. Everything we sell is sourced to arrive sealed and within date, and if what you receive does not match the listing we will put it right.

How long does delivery take?

Inside Dhaka, usually one to three working days. Outside Dhaka, generally two to five, depending on the courier and your location. We contact you to confirm the order before it is dispatched.
