Home Appliances covers small and medium household electricals — kitchen appliances, irons and garment steamers, fans and cooling, and the machines that do the daily work of a house.

Check the Voltage Before You Order

This is the one thing worth checking on every imported appliance, because getting it wrong destroys the machine instantly.

Bangladesh runs 220-240V at 50Hz.

Appliances from the USA, Canada and Japan are frequently 110-120V. A plug adapter changes the shape of the pins, not the electricity — plugging a 110V appliance into Bangladeshi mains without a step-down converter burns it out.

“100-240V” on the label means dual voltage and works anywhere.

Where an item we sell is not 220-240V, the product page says so.

Protecting Appliances From the Mains

Voltage fluctuation kills more appliances here than use does. Spikes, brownouts and sudden restoration after a cut are hard on motors, compressors and control boards.

Use a surge protector on anything with electronics in it, and a stabiliser for larger appliances where the supply is poor.

Wait a few minutes before switching a fridge or an air conditioner back on after a power cut. Restarting a compressor against pressure is what destroys it.

Do not run high-wattage appliances through thin extension leads. Plug irons, heaters and kettles directly into a wall socket.

Unplug during a thunderstorm where you can.

Making Them Last

Clean filters and vents regularly. A blocked filter is the commonest cause of a dead motor across this whole category.

Descale anything that heats water — kettles, steamers, irons — monthly with vinegar and water.

Let motors rest. Most small kitchen machines are rated for a minute or two of continuous running.

Keep the box and the invoice for any warranty claim.

Storing It Properly

Bangladesh’s heat and humidity are harder on most products than anything else they will meet.

Cool, dry and out of direct sunlight — not a sunny windowsill, and not the hottest corner of the bathroom.

Keep the cap closed properly. Air and moisture do more damage over months than anything else.

Do not decant into an unmarked container. Once the pack is gone, so are the batch number, the expiry date and the instructions.

Keep it out of reach of children.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will an imported appliance work here?

Only if it is rated 220-240V or 100-240V. A 110-120V appliance needs a step-down converter; a plug adapter alone will destroy it.

Is a surge protector really necessary?

In Bangladesh, yes. It costs a fraction of a repair, and voltage spikes are the leading cause of dead power boards and motors.

What if it arrives damaged or does not switch on?

Tell us as soon as the parcel arrives, keep the packaging, and do not attempt a repair. Anything damaged in transit or dead on arrival is our problem to solve.

What if the product is wrong or damaged?

Contact us as soon as the parcel arrives, before the item is used, and keep the packaging. Anything sent in error, damaged in transit or not matching its description is our problem to solve.

How long does delivery take?

Inside Dhaka, usually one to three working days. Outside Dhaka, generally two to five, depending on the courier and your location. We contact you to confirm the order before it is dispatched.
