Oily Skin Needs This Too

The most expensive mistake in skin care is skipping moisturiser because your skin is oily.

Oil and water are different things. Skin can be oily and dehydrated at the same time, and that combination is extremely common in this climate — air conditioning, sun and harsh cleansers pull water out while the skin keeps producing oil. Stripping oil makes the skin produce more of it, so the tight squeaky feeling after washing is not a win. A light gel moisturiser genuinely reduces oiliness over a few weeks.

Choosing the Right Texture

• Gel — water-based, absorbs instantly, no residue. The right choice for oily and acne-prone skin, and for hot weather generally.

• Lotion — light cream. Suits normal and combination skin and most of the body.

• Cream — richer, sits longer on the surface. For dry skin, for winter, and for night.

• Balm or ointment — heaviest, mostly occlusive. For very dry patches, cracked heels, and sealing in a treatment overnight.

• Your skin type changes with the season. The cream that is right in December is often too heavy in May, and switching is normal rather than a sign you chose wrong.

Applying It So It Works

Apply within three minutes of washing, while the skin is still slightly damp. This is the single change that most improves how well a moisturiser works.

Warm it between your hands, then press it in rather than rubbing hard.

• Sunscreen goes on after moisturiser in the morning, as the last skin care step.

Do I need a separate day and night cream?

Not necessarily. The genuine difference is that day formulas are lighter and often carry SPF, while night formulas are richer and may contain actives that increase sun sensitivity. One good moisturiser plus a separate sunscreen works perfectly well.

My moisturiser makes me break out. What now?

Look for “non-comedogenic” and switch to a lighter texture — gel rather than cream. Heavy oils and rich butters are the usual culprits on acne-prone skin.

How long before I see a difference?

Hydration is immediate and you should feel it the same day. Changes in texture, flaking and tightness take two to four weeks of consistent use.

How do I know the product is genuine?

Check the seal, the batch number and the expiry printed on the pack itself rather than on a sticker over it. Everything we sell is sourced to arrive sealed and within date, and if what you receive does not match the listing we will put it right.

How much shelf life will it have?

We stock to arrive well within date and do not knowingly ship anything close to expiry. If you need a specific minimum for a particular order, ask before placing it and we will check the batch.
