Product Overview

A dye stick with comb teeth moulded into the head, so you colour and comb in a single movement. It is made for touch-ups rather than a full head: the greys at the temples, along a parting, at a receding hairline, or in a beard. Twist the base and the colour paste comes up through the teeth.

Allergy Alert — Do the 48-Hour Test Every Time

Do this before every single application, including if you have used the same product before. Hair dye allergy can appear suddenly after years of trouble-free use, and each reaction is worse than the last.

1. Mix a pea-sized amount of the colour exactly as you would for a full application.
2. Dab it behind the ear or on the inner elbow and leave it uncovered to dry.
3. Leave it for 48 hours. Do not wash the area.
4. If there is any redness, itching, burning, swelling or a raised rash — at any point in those 48 hours — do not use the product, and do not use any other dye containing the same ingredients.

• Do not colour hair if the scalp is broken, sore, sunburnt or irritated.
• Wear the gloves supplied and keep the colour off the skin as far as you can.

How to Use

1. 48-hour allergy test first. Every time — not just the first time.
2. Start with clean, dry hair. Oily hair does not take colour; wash and dry thoroughly first.
3. Open the cover and rotate the base clockwise until the paste rises about halfway up the comb slot.
4. Lift the hair, press the comb against the grey and draw it through, repeating over the same area a few times.
5. Let it dry fully before touching the hair or letting it touch clothing.
6. Wipe any colour off the skin straight away — it stains.

What to Expect

A touch-up stick deposits colour on the outside of the hair. It is not a permanent dye and does not penetrate — which is exactly why it is a gentler product, and also why it washes out. Expect it to last until the next wash, or a little longer.

It is at its best on small patches. Used over a whole head it looks flat and can transfer onto a pillow or a collar. For full coverage, a cream colourant is the right tool.
