Keeping Bath Toys Clean

Any bath toy with a hole draws water inside and then sits warm and damp, which is exactly what mould wants. It is easy to manage if you make a habit of it:

• Squeeze or shake the water out after every bath and leave the toy to drain hole-down.
• Once a week, flush it with warm water and a little white vinegar, then squeeze out and rinse.
• Store it somewhere it can dry, not in a net bag hanging in a wet bathroom.
• If black specks come out when you squeeze it, throw it away — it cannot be cleaned at that point.

Safety

• Adult supervision at all times. This is not a toy.
• Check for cracks, splits or loose parts before every use, and throw it out at the first sign of damage.
• Keep away from other children and store out of reach when not in use.
• Stop using it and speak to your doctor if the baby seems distressed or the skin reacts.
