Important — Squeeze Toys and Mould

This is the one thing worth knowing about squeeze bath toys. The hole that makes the squeak also draws bath water inside, and that water sits there in the dark and warm. Cut one open after a few months and you will usually find black mould.

It is manageable, but it takes a habit:

• Squeeze all the water out after every bath and stand the toy hole-down to drain.
• Once a week, squeeze warm water with a little white vinegar in, shake, and squeeze it out.
• Store somewhere it can dry, not in a net bag in a wet bath.
• If black specks appear in the water when you squeeze it, throw it away. It cannot be cleaned at that point.
• Some parents seal the hole with a dab of hot glue. It stops the squeak and stops the mould.

Safety

• Adult supervision at all times. This is not a toy.
• Check for cracks, splits or loose parts before every use, and throw it out at the first sign of damage.
