Baby products are the part of a catalogue where a wrong description does the most harm, so this section is written more carefully than any other. Every listing states the age range, the size and the ingredient information the manufacturer publishes, and where a maker does not publish something we say so rather than guessing.

Age range is not a suggestion. A cereal for six months and up is formulated for a digestive system that is six months old. Starting solids earlier than about six months is a decision for your paediatrician, not for a pack.
Fewer ingredients is better for baby skin. A newborn’s skin barrier is thinner and more permeable than an adult’s, which is why fragrance-free and dye-free are worth choosing here even if you would not bother for yourself.
Nothing here treats an illness. A baby with a fever, persistent crying, poor feeding, unusual sleepiness or breathing difficulty needs a doctor the same day — not a product.

Practical Notes That Save Money and Trouble

Buy small first. Babies reject foods and react to lotions, and a large pack of something your baby will not touch is money in the bin.
Check the seal and the date on every food item before it is opened, and note the “use within” period after opening — for most infant cereals that is three to four weeks.
Do not stockpile by size. Babies grow through diaper sizes faster than anyone expects.
Patch test any new lotion or oil on a small area of the baby’s arm and wait a day before using it all over.

Genuine Products
Much of this catalogue is imported, and imported shelves are where fakes and repacks appear. Whoever you buy from, these are worth checking:

The seal. An intact shrink wrap or safety ring is what tells you a product has not been opened.
The batch number and expiry printed on the pack itself, not on a sticker over it. A sticker covering the original printing is the commonest sign of a repack.
A price far below everyone else’s is information — sometimes a genuine clearance, often a fake or something close to expiry.

The general guidance is around six months, alongside continued breastfeeding — but this is a conversation for your paediatrician, who knows your baby. Most infant cereals here are labelled from six months, and the label is there for a reason.
Are these products safe for newborn skin?
The ones labelled for newborns are formulated for it — fragrance-free, dye-free and pH-appropriate. Patch test anything new on a small area first, and stop at once if there is redness or a rash.
My baby has a rash. What should I buy?
For ordinary nappy rash, a barrier cream plus more frequent changes and time without a nappy is the standard answer. For a rash that is spreading, blistering, weeping, or comes with a fever, buy nothing and see a doctor.
How much shelf life will it have?
We stock to arrive well within date and do not knowingly ship anything close to expiry. If you need a specific minimum for a particular order, ask before placing it and we will check the batch.
What if the product is wrong or damaged?
Contact us as soon as the parcel arrives, before the item is used, and keep the packaging. Anything sent in error, damaged in transit or not matching its description is our problem to solve.
