Life Extension Bone Restore + Vitamin K2, 120 capsules — calcium with vitamin D3, vitamin K2 and supporting minerals, formulated for bone strength.
If you take warfarin, speak to your doctor before buying.
Product Overview
Life Extension Bone Restore + Vitamin K2 is a bone-health formula in a 120 capsule bottle. Rather than calcium alone, it combines calcium with vitamin D3, vitamin K2 and supporting minerals.
Why the Combination Rather Than Just Calcium
Calcium on its own is the old approach, and it is not the best one. The formula here follows the chain of what calcium actually needs:
- Calcium — the raw material of bone.
- Vitamin D3 — controls how much calcium you absorb from the gut. Without enough D, calcium largely passes through.
- Vitamin K2 — activates the proteins that direct calcium into bone rather than into soft tissue.
- Magnesium, zinc, boron and similar — cofactors in bone metabolism.
That reasoning is sound. It is also worth being honest that the long-term fracture-prevention evidence for calcium supplements is more mixed than the marketing suggests, and some studies have raised questions about high-dose calcium supplements and cardiovascular risk — which is part of why the K2 is there.
Important — Vitamin K and Blood Thinners
If you take warfarin, do not take this without speaking to your doctor.
Warfarin works by blocking vitamin K. Taking a vitamin K supplement works directly against it and can push your INR out of range, which is dangerous in either direction — too little effect risks a clot, too much risks a bleed.
This is not a reason to avoid vitamin K forever; some people on warfarin do take a steady small amount under supervision. It is a reason that the decision belongs to the doctor managing your INR, not to a shop page.
Notes on Taking Calcium
- Split the dose. Your body absorbs roughly 500mg of calcium at a time, so two smaller doses beat one large one.
- Take it with food. Better absorbed, and gentler on the stomach.
- Calcium blocks the absorption of several medicines — thyroid medicine, some antibiotics, iron. Leave a gap of at least four hours, and ask a pharmacist.
- Constipation is the common side effect. More water and fibre usually settles it.
- Do not stack calcium supplements. Too much over a long period is linked to kidney stones.
What Else Builds Bone
Worth saying, because a capsule is only part of it: weight-bearing exercise is the strongest single thing you can do for bone density — walking, stairs, resistance training. Bone responds to load. Add enough protein, enough vitamin D, and not smoking, and that is most of the picture.
If you have been told you have osteoporosis, that needs medical treatment, not a supplement on its own.
This Is a Supplement, Not a Medicine
A dietary supplement is a food product. It is not a medicine, it has not been through the testing a medicine goes through, and it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
Supplement labels use health language — “supports”, “helps maintain”, “promotes” — precisely because they are not permitted to claim treatment. Read them that way. If a listing anywhere promises that a capsule will fix a medical condition, that promise is not one the product can keep.
What a supplement can honestly do is fill a gap in your diet. That is worth something, and it is a smaller thing than most packaging implies.
Talk to a Doctor First
Speak to a doctor or pharmacist before you start, particularly if you:
- take any prescribed medicine — supplements interfere with medicines more often than people expect
- are being treated for a heart, liver, kidney, thyroid or blood condition
- have diabetes
- are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding
- have surgery or a dental procedure coming up
Never stop or reduce a prescribed medicine in order to take a supplement instead. That is the single most dangerous thing anyone does with a product like this, and it is what the marketing language quietly invites.
Storage
- Keep the container tightly closed, somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight.
- Do not store it in a bathroom. Heat and humidity break supplements down faster than anything else, and a Dhaka bathroom is the worst place in the house for them.
- Leave the desiccant sachet in the bottle. It is there to keep moisture out, not by mistake.
- Softgels and fish oils are best kept in a fridge in hot weather — they go rancid otherwise.
- Keep it out of reach of children.
- Do not use it after the expiry date, and throw it away if the capsules smell strongly off, have stuck together or changed colour.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many capsules a day?
Follow the bottle — formulas of this kind are usually two to four a day split across meals, which is why 120 capsules is about a month.
Can I take it with my thyroid tablet?
Not at the same time. Calcium blocks levothyroxine absorption. Leave at least four hours between them and check with your doctor.
Do I need it if I drink milk and eat dal?
Possibly not. Work out roughly what you get from food first — a supplement is for closing a gap, not for adding on top of a diet that already covers it.
Should I take it with food?
Follow the pack. As a general rule, fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K) and oils absorb better with a meal that contains some fat, and they are gentler on the stomach that way.
Is this the genuine imported product?
Yes. It is sourced as an import, so the bottle is printed for its origin market rather than for Bangladesh. The seal should be intact when it reaches you — tell us straight away if it is not.
