Description

Product Overview

Bronson Vitamin K2 MK-7 Plus Vitamin D3 pairs the two vitamins in an extra-strength formula, in a 60 capsule bottle.

The manufacturer’s framing — that both are essential and that modern diets are commonly short of them — is fair. Vitamin D deficiency is genuinely widespread, and vitamin K2 is scarce in most modern diets because its richest sources are fermented foods and organ meats that few people eat regularly.

Why These Two Are Paired

This is one of the better-reasoned combinations in the supplement aisle:

  • Vitamin D3 controls how much calcium you absorb from food. Without enough, calcium largely passes through.
  • Vitamin K2 activates the proteins that put that calcium where it belongs — osteocalcin, which binds calcium into bone, and matrix Gla protein, which helps keep it out of arterial walls.

The argument is that D alone brings more calcium in, and K2 helps direct it. Biologically sound. It is also fair to say the long-term outcome evidence for the pairing is still developing — a good hypothesis rather than a proven regimen.

MK-7 Specifically

Vitamin K2 comes in several forms. MK-7 stays in the bloodstream far longer than MK-4 — a half-life measured in days rather than hours — which is why one capsule a day is enough with MK-7 where MK-4 needs several. It is the form used in most modern products for that reason.

Important — Vitamin K and Blood Thinners

If you take warfarin, do not take this without speaking to your doctor.

Warfarin works by blocking vitamin K. Taking a vitamin K supplement works directly against it and can push your INR out of range, which is dangerous in either direction — too little effect risks a clot, too much risks a bleed.

This is not a reason to avoid vitamin K forever; some people on warfarin do take a steady small amount under supervision. It is a reason that the decision belongs to the doctor managing your INR, not to a shop page.

Vitamin D in Bangladesh

Worth saying plainly: vitamin D deficiency is very common here despite the sunshine. Indoor work, covering clothing, air pollution and darker skin all reduce how much the skin makes, and few foods contain much.

A blood test costs little and tells you whether you need a maintenance dose or a corrective one — a much better basis for buying an “extra strength” product than guessing. Check the IU on this bottle and do not stack it with another D supplement.

Do Not Exceed the Stated Dose

Follow the dose printed on the pack. More is not better with supplements — for several of them, more is worse.

  • Fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E and K) build up in the body rather than being flushed out. A high daily dose taken for months can accumulate to a harmful level.
  • Taking two products that both contain the same vitamin is an easy way to double a dose without noticing. Check every label you are taking.
  • Stop and see a doctor if you get nausea, stomach pain, unusual bruising, a rash, or anything else new after starting.

This Is a Supplement, Not a Medicine

A dietary supplement is a food product. It is not a medicine, it has not been through the testing a medicine goes through, and it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

Supplement labels use health language — “supports”, “helps maintain”, “promotes” — precisely because they are not permitted to claim treatment. Read them that way. If a listing anywhere promises that a capsule will fix a medical condition, that promise is not one the product can keep.

What a supplement can honestly do is fill a gap in your diet. That is worth something, and it is a smaller thing than most packaging implies.

Talk to a Doctor First

Speak to a doctor or pharmacist before you start, particularly if you:

  • take any prescribed medicine — supplements interfere with medicines more often than people expect
  • are being treated for a heart, liver, kidney, thyroid or blood condition
  • have diabetes
  • are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding
  • have surgery or a dental procedure coming up

Never stop or reduce a prescribed medicine in order to take a supplement instead. That is the single most dangerous thing anyone does with a product like this, and it is what the marketing language quietly invites.

Storage

  • Keep the container tightly closed, somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight.
  • Do not store it in a bathroom. Heat and humidity break supplements down faster than anything else, and a Dhaka bathroom is the worst place in the house for them.
  • Leave the desiccant sachet in the bottle. It is there to keep moisture out, not by mistake.
  • Softgels and fish oils are best kept in a fridge in hot weather — they go rancid otherwise.
  • Keep it out of reach of children.
  • Do not use it after the expiry date, and throw it away if the capsules smell strongly off, have stuck together or changed colour.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I take it with food?

Yes. Both are fat-soluble and absorb considerably better with a meal containing some fat.

Can I take it with a calcium supplement?

That is the usual intention. Watch your total calcium across all sources, and split calcium doses rather than taking a large one at once.

Is K2 the same as the vitamin K in leafy greens?

No. Greens supply K1, which the body uses mainly for blood clotting. K2 comes from fermented foods and animal sources and is the one involved in bone and arterial calcium. They are related but not interchangeable.

Should I take it with food?

Follow the pack. As a general rule, fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K) and oils absorb better with a meal that contains some fat, and they are gentler on the stomach that way.

Is this the genuine imported product?

Yes. It is sourced as an import, so the bottle is printed for its origin market rather than for Bangladesh. The seal should be intact when it reaches you — tell us straight away if it is not.
