Product Overview

NOW Foods DHA-250 supplies 250mg of DHA and 125mg of EPA per softgel, in a 120 softgel bottle. It is molecularly distilled, which is the process used to strip out mercury, PCBs and other contaminants that accumulate in fish oil.

Why a DHA-Forward Formula Is Different

This is the point of the product and most listings miss it. Most fish oils contain more EPA than DHA. This one is deliberately the other way round, and the two are not interchangeable:

• DHA is structural. It is a physical building block of brain cell membranes and of the retina — roughly a quarter of the fat in your brain is DHA. That is why it is added to infant formula.
• EPA is more involved in the inflammatory pathways, and is the one usually studied for mood and joints.
