Brownie Chocolate Buds are small, rich cocoa chocolate pieces in a 72g pack, and every bud is wrapped on its own.
That individual wrapping is what the product is for. A bowl of unwrapped chocolate on a wedding table is soft, handled and dusty within the hour. Wrapped buds stay clean, stay in shape, and can be picked up and put in a pocket — which is why they turn up at weddings, birthdays, New Year and Christmas tables rather than in a lunchbox.
Chocolate and the Weather
Chocolate softens above roughly 25°C, and it spends part of its journey here in temperatures well above that. When softened chocolate sets again it can develop a pale grey or white film on the surface. That is bloom — cocoa butter or sugar that has separated and recrystallised.
Bloomed chocolate is safe to eat. It is not mould and it is not spoilage. It looks dull and the texture can be slightly grainy, and the flavour is very close to unaffected. Chilling the bar for twenty minutes before opening firms it up.
We would rather tell you this before you order than after. If a bar arrives melted out of shape or with a broken seal, send us a photograph and we will make it right.

Will they survive on a table at an event?
The wrapper protects them from handling and dust, but not from heat. In a warm hall they will soften. Keep them somewhere cool until the last moment and put them out shortly before guests arrive.
What if it arrives melted or discoloured?
Chocolate that has softened and reset may look pale or grey. That is bloom, and it is safe to eat. If it has arrived misshapen, leaking or with a broken seal, send us a photograph and we will sort it out.
Is it halal?
Read the pack. Some imported brands carry a halal mark and some do not, and we will not claim a certification the manufacturer has not given. If it matters for your order, message us first and we will tell you exactly what the pack we hold says.
How do I check the expiry date?
It is printed on the pack — usually on the base, the seal or the back panel, and often as a “best before” date. Check it as soon as your order arrives. If it is unreadable or very close, message us and we will replace it.
