Mostly Imported, and What to Check

• Date format. American packs print MM/DD/YYYY and British ones DD/MM/YYYY. This is exactly how a fresh product gets mistaken for an expired one and the other way round.

• “Best before” is quality; “use by” is safety. Biscuits past best before are stale, not dangerous. A use-by date should be respected.

• The allergen line. Imported packs list allergens clearly, usually in bold — nuts, milk, soy, wheat, egg. If anyone in the house has an allergy, this line matters more than anything else on the pack.

• Gelatin and animal fat. Many imported sweets, marshmallows and some snacks contain them, and the front of the pack rarely says so.

Storing Food in Bangladeshi Heat

• Airtight, always, once opened. Crisps and cereal go soft within a day in an open pack here.

• Nuts go rancid faster than anything else — keep them in the fridge once the pack is open, and if they smell like old paint, throw them out.

• Chocolate blooms above about 24°C. The pale, grainy surface is cosmetic and still safe to eat, but the coolest cupboard or the fridge in a sealed box avoids it.

• Buy the size you will actually finish. A large pack that goes stale is not a saving.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it halal?

Where a pack carries halal certification, the product page says so. Where it does not, we do not claim it. For imported confectionery in particular, check the ingredient list for gelatin, which is frequently beef or pork derived.

Will chocolate melt on the way to me?

It can bloom in the hottest months — the surface turns pale and grainy. It is a texture change rather than spoilage and it is still good to eat. If the appearance matters, chocolate is best ordered in the cooler part of the year.

Can I order in bulk for an office or an event?

Yes. Message us with the quantity and the date you need it and we will confirm availability and shelf life on the batch before you commit.

How much shelf life will it have?

We stock to arrive well within date and do not knowingly ship anything close to expiry. If you need a specific minimum for a particular order, ask before placing it and we will check the batch.

What if the product is wrong or damaged?

Contact us as soon as the parcel arrives, before the item is used, and keep the packaging. Anything sent in error, damaged in transit or not matching its description is our problem to solve.
