Using a Device Safely

Most vape incidents are battery incidents, and nearly all of them are avoidable:

• Use the charger supplied, or a normal 5V charger. Do not leave a device charging overnight or unattended.

• Never carry loose batteries in a pocket or a bag with keys or coins. A short circuit across the terminals is the usual cause of a battery fire.

• Replace a battery with a torn or damaged wrap. The wrap is the insulation.

• Stop using any device that gets hot, swells, leaks or smells burnt, and do not charge it again.

• Do not modify a device or use a coil outside the resistance range it is built for.

• Keep devices and liquid well away from children. Liquid nicotine is dangerous if swallowed, even in small amounts, and the flavours smell like sweets.

Looking After a Device

• Prime a new coil. Wet the wick with liquid and leave it five to ten minutes before the first use — firing a dry coil burns it out immediately and produces the harsh taste people blame on the liquid.

• Replace coils regularly. A burnt coil tastes bad and is the commonest complaint there is.

• Keep the tank topped up — running it dry burns the wick.

• Store devices upright and away from heat and direct sunlight.

How often should I change the coil?

Typically every one to two weeks with regular use, and immediately if the taste turns burnt. Heavy use and sweet liquids shorten coil life considerably.

Why does my device taste burnt?

Almost always a dry or worn coil — either it was fired before the wick was soaked, or it has reached the end of its life. Prime new coils and keep the tank topped up.

How long does delivery take?
